THK is a leading manufacturer of linear motion systems. The purpose of a linear motion system is to have an item move along a linear track with a set or variable speed and move it into specified positions. The main aspect of a linear system is the efficiency with which you can move the load, the speed you can move it at, and the accuracy with which you can position it. A linear motion system generally will consist of rails or shafts with linear bearings which support the load. The bearing surface is machined to accept rolling elements in the guide block or nut and is hardened to accept large loads.
